After the most impactful set of Summer Programs to date, CLA is thrilled to announce the Classic Lyric Arts 2024 Summer Programs taking place in France, Italy, and the Berkshires. The CLA team is hard at work preparing for a new summer of artistry and music-making.

CLA France
CLA France, is a two-and-a-half-week summer training experience for emerging artists in the Périgord region of southwest France. CLA France is dedicated to exploring French opéra and chanson with native teachers in all its complexity, nuance, and beauty.
France is CLA’s most intimate program, made up of sixteen singers, three pianists, and four teaching artists. Based in a stunning new home for 2024, CLA Artists and faculty reside together in the French countryside and are immersed under one roof in the magic of French music, language, and culture.
CLA Italy
Nestled in the charming and idyllic town of Novafeltria, CLA Italy is a two-and-a-half-week summer training program with native teachers that is dedicated to exploring the precision, artistry, and enchantment of bel canto repertoire.
Italy is CLA’s oldest and largest program, originally launching in 2009. With twenty-six singers, six to eight pianists, and eight teaching artists, the daily schedules and concert programs are packed with thrilling work and expansive repertoire. CLA Artists and faculty experience the art of Italian slow living among the locals of Novafeltria while immersing themselves in Italian opera and song.
CLA Berkshires
CLA Berkshires is a two-week U.S.-based training experience devoted to mastering the artistry and complexity of Mozart’s Italian operas. The breathtaking beauty of the Berkshires inspires artists as they delve into the nuances of Mozart recitativo, arias, and ensemble pieces.
With twenty-six singers, six pianists, and five teaching artists, this retreat-like program prides itself on creating a tight-knit community of empowered growth and development in the breathtaking mountains of the Berkshires. With native Italian teachers, CLA’s emerging artists are surrounded by first-hand culture, history, and language right here in the U.S.
